Stain/ Caulking Removal
A vital part of restoring the logs, is removing the previous stain and caulking. If the home has been previously sealed, we use an oscillating blade to remove the old sealants. After that is complete, we grind and/or sand down the logs to remove the old finishing down to the substrate. This process is only necessary if the previous coatings have started to fail i.e peeling, blackening, crazing etc.

Staining
After the old finishes have been removed, the logs can be stained in the color of your preference. Whether you like more natural or darker stain there are many different colors and shades to choose from. We prefer to apply strictly by brush and work it into the logs, compared to spray application.

Chink/ Energy Seal
Chink and energy sealants are used to seal the cracks in between the logs to prevent air leakage. Doing this will help save on heat especially through the colder months. Sealants are also used to seal the cracks in the logs to prevent damage or rot to occur and to stop insect infiltration.
